There are a wide variety of reasons why Heads approach Clare to work with their Senior Leadership Team. From building a new team through to re-invigorating a well-established team, and in rare situations, addressing dysfunction within the team.

This work is tailored to specific requirements of each Senior Leadership Team.

Some of the general tools and approaches which Synergia use include:

  1. Psychometric assessment/personality profiling to enable the team to understand their individual preferences and for the team to understand strengths and gaps that exist. This enables them to adapt to each other’s nuances and personal preferences.
  2. Strategic development discussions using a robust analytical tool.

Clare will gather data around the performance of the school from the SLT as individuals, which is used as a framework around which Clare facilitates a team development event using traditional team-building activities to focus on.

  1. Using Lencioni’s model of five dysfunctions of a team;
    • To review and develop trust,
    • To enable a team to embrace task conflict,
    • Encouraging commitment to the delivery of tasks and strategy,
    • Building accountability
    • Driving results.

This is used in conjunction with the steps; to enable the team to understand what it takes to become a high performing team, and how to work through these phases together.

These events can be run throughout the year, either inside of, or outside of the academic calendar. The location of this will be agreed with the Head, depending on specific objectives of the team development programme.

The specific objectives for each event are discussed in detail during the commissioning stage of the project.
