The Synergia team includes retired Heads as well as experienced Organisational Development Specialists. This enables us to be able to work with schools and review departments and teams across the whole school community.
When we conduct a review, we will agree the specific objectives and understand the context for the review; agreeing with the Head how this is carried out to focus the team.
For example, we have worked with academic departments where team members appear to be working in silo, duplicating tasks and struggling with a lack of team communication. We would reference these findings in a review to focus our attention on remedial recommendations. An administrative department where a review was commissioned around communications, appraisal and management structure benefited from our external view and experienced guidance to set improved processes for the future.
One of our Synergia team then meet with the members of each department to review and discuss how the department is working, what works well and any thoughts they have, to enable the department to function more effectively.
Using a coaching style, these 1-2-1s can explore the individual’s own role within the department and how that can be developed further to enable the team to be more effective.
Our approach is tailored to each individual situation and, depending on the nature of the review, will determine the most appropriate person from the Synergia team.
