Achieving high performing teams is not always easy. At Synergia we’ve developed an approach that builds self-awareness with Emotional Intelligence and leads to a greater understanding of each persons approach to their working environment.
Through the use of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator tool, either Step I or Step II, an individual has an insight into their own work preferences and the impact those preferences have on their colleagues. This enables them to think more acutely about how they act and how they can develop their own self management to ensure any impact is positive.
How does it work in practice?
This increasing self-awareness then enables them to understand more about how others work and to begin adapting their styles accordingly. We describe this as the ‘slide-rule’ approach – an individual adapts their approach to work by 90% to get that person to engage with them more effectively. Once this engagement has happened, the individual can ‘slide back’, bringing their colleague with them to continue working together in an effective manner.
Each team member completes the MBTI questionnaire online. They then receive an individual feedback session, which enables them to gain better understanding of the tool as well as explore their self-awareness around areas such as:
Using the Lenses structure, the team can explore such areas as Vision and Values as well as organisational culture.
